Hopedale Parklands, Massachusetts, USA
Walk contributed by: Marjorie Turner Hollman
Walk/trail: Hopedale Pond and Parklands
Location: Hopedale Street, Hopedale, MA (south of Boston, just outside Rt. 495)
Walk distance: Approx. 2-1/2 miles to circle the pond, with some sidewalk walking to complete the loop. I usually start at one side of the pond or the other, go to the stone bridge then turn back
Highlights: This is a historic trail, built over 100 years ago by the town for the benefit of all. The wide, relatively level carriage path offers views of the pond almost all the way around the pond, and features large glacial erratic boulders at the edge of the trail, great for kids to clamber up and slide down off.
