Happisburgh Beach, England
Walk contributed by: Ed Louis, Marion Becker and beagles Suzie and Lucy
Walk/trail: Happisburgh Beach, in view of famous Happisburgh Lighthouse
Location: End of Beach Road, Happisburgh, Norwich
Walk distance: Walkers can walk as far in each direction as desired depending on the tide. During spring tides you can get cut off, so be careful!
Highlights: One of the North Norfolk walks we like from our base in Mundesley, England. Happisburgh (pronounced Haze-borough) beach is a favourite of ours for fossil hunting and is home to the oldest human footprints outside of Africa. Part of the Deep History Coast, it is definitely a place to visit. Every day the beach changes with the tides and new things get uncovered. Unfortunately erosion will eventually result in the loss of parts of the village - we've seen at least 50 meters of cliff recession in recent years.
